Musicambia Special Event: A Conversation with Maurice Chammah

About this event

We’re pleased to announce Maurice Chammah, staff writer of the Marshall Project and author of Let the Lord Sort Them: The Rise and Fall of the Death Penalty will be the special guest at our virtual benefit on June 3rd. He will be interviewed by Musicambia alumnus, Ivan Calaff. The evening will also feature musical performances by several alumni from our programs.

In addition to his work with the Marshall Project, Maurice’s work has been published by The New Yorker, The Atlantic and The New York Times. A former Fulbright fellow, he helps organize The Insider Prize, a contest for incarcerated writers sponsored by the magazine American Short Fiction.

Ivan will be interviewing Maurice about his book, what abolition of the death penalty and the prison system could look like and how Musicambia’s work fits in, among other topics. It’s sure to be a fascinating evening and we hope you’ll join us.

The event is free but donations are greatly appreciated and it’s necessary to RSVP here.
