Musicambia at Allendale

In 2016, we offered a three day songwriting workshop at the Allendale Correctional Institute (ACI) in South Carolina.

In 2019, the National Endowment for the Arts approved Musicambia for a grant in the amount of $10,000 for our songwriting program at ACI. We provided one weeklong songwriting workshop at ACI in October 2019 and were scheduled to offer a 2nd weeklong workshop in April 2020, but the second was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, we were thrilled to receive a second NEA Artworks Grant for this program. We are grateful for the NEA’s support, and are eager to return to ACI as soon as possible. As of September 2023, we have still not been back allowed into ACI.
